| A small group
of individuals met together 10 years ago to explore the
possibilities of sharing their Christian faith through a
new medium -- drama. The group formally organized under
the name "Drama Disciples" in 1997. Many of the
charter members continue to be active in the organization
today, which presents a dinner theater each spring and
fall for the community. |
| MISSION: Drama Disciples is an
outreach ministry of Clarks Mills United Methodist
Church. Our purpose is to give glory to God through the
use of dramatic productions and to be part of the
church's ministry. Drama Disciples seeks to proclaim the
word of God and its truth through drama. Our theme verse
is, "We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching
everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone
perfect in Christ." (Col. 1:28) |
WELCOME:
Drama Disciples
invites everyone in the community to attend dinner
theater productions. Anyone who wants to participate in
Christian dinner theater is invited to join the group.
There's a place for you! Actors, musicians, readers,
seamstresses, sound and light system operators, props
finders, choreographers, stage crew, set designers,
painters, phone call makers, table decorators,
reservations takers, kitchen staff, servers,
baby-sitters, errand runners, and publicity people are
all needed to accomplish this ministry!

|
FUNDING: Drama Disciples accepts
donations from dinner theater guests. In addition, the
group receives a great deal of support in the form of
time and talents from members of the Clarks Mills
congregation, plus use of the fellowship hall, kitchen
and equipment. Individuals, local businesses and
nonprofit organizations also lend support to theater
productions through the loan of equipment, props, and
stage furnishings.

|
EXPANSION: Drama Disciples is
undertaking a new project called Discipleship
Amplified! The endeavor is aimed at
expanding this ministry by supplementing free marketing
with small purchased advertisements, upgrading sound and
lighting, and introducing more people to the church
through increasing attendance and participation in dinner
theaters.
